Brad Morgan, MEd

Brad Morgan is currently in his 4th year as the Superintendent of Schools for the North Middlesex Regional School District.  With 26 years of experience in middle and high school education as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, and now superintendent, Brad brings a proven track record of how effective administrators and educators can work in collaboration to positively impact students. As Principal of Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical High School for 8 years, he led the team of 350 faculty, staff, and administrators who were key in designing, building, and opening the new school in 2014. At Essex Technical High School, Brad oversaw the operation of the high school’s four academies, was the chief administrator for the school’s policies, and directed the curricula for the academic and career programs.  Brad’s work at Essex North Shore was nationally recognized in the Association of Career & Technical Education’s April 2013 edition of Techniques as well as Achieve’s July 2015 White Paper, The Best of Both Worlds, for his progress in building a culture of high standards and literacy skills across all academic and CTE areas with an emphasis on rigorous and relevant texts while strengthening not only reading and writing skills, but speaking and listening skills in order to better prepare students for life beyond high school.

Prior to heading up Essex North Shore, Brad was principal of Waltham’s McDevitt Middle School (5 years); and Assistant Principal of Andover’s West Middle School (2 years), and of Marblehead’s Middle School (2 years).  In addition, he spent 7 years teaching Social Studies/History in Chelmsford, MA. Brad offers workshops to educators from around New England on Growth Mindset, Transitions, Literacy, Classroom Management, Student Engagement, and Educator Evaluation.  Brad has also worked on assessment at the national level as a representative for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Brad earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees at UMass Lowell and is currently a member of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (MASS), the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and Curriculum Leadership Organization (ASCD). Outside of public education, Brad worked for over 20 years as an ice hockey coach for USA Hockey as well as at the high school and collegiate level for both men and women.
