Donna Guzman, MEd
Donna Guzman brings over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience in public education to her consulting work. Most recently, she has worked as the Elementary Literacy Curriculum Specialist and Instructional Coach for Weston Public Schools. Donna began her career teaching elementary school in Washington State and then in Lexington Public Schools, where she taught all grades from Kindergarten through fifth grade.
Donna holds a Master’s of Education from Endicott College and a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria, Canada. In addition to her extensive knowledge of elementary curriculum, Donna is trained in Universal Design for Learning, Culturally Responsive Education, and Responsive Classroom methods.
During her tenure with Weston Public Schools, Donna spearheaded three major district improvement initiatives: developing a comprehensive student-centered coaching program, establishing a robust multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) informed by data, and implementing consistent, aligned literacy curriculum and instructional practices across the elementary schools. These experiences, along with her love of teaching and learning, have translated into her ability to develop strong working relationships with teachers and administrators, allowing them to work collaboratively to facilitate positive change within their organizations.
Through her work, Donna has planned and presented universally designed professional development, led team and data meetings, modeled best practices in classrooms, and supported teams and individual teachers with personalized coaching sessions. She is passionate about supporting educators by recognizing and building upon their strengths to empower them to become leaders in their field.
