Heidi Perez, MEd
Heidi Perez has dedicated over 31 years to public education, passionately serving high, medium, and low-incidence districts in various roles, including ELD teacher, coach, administrator, teacher-educator, and district consultant. Throughout her career, educating Multilingual Learners and supporting their families has been her driving mission. Currently, she serves as the Director of Multilingual Learner Education Programs (PK-12) in Haverhill, bringing her extensive experience from previous roles such as Director of ELL and Title III, and Supervisor of Language Acquisition in districts including Malden, Methuen, Gloucester, and Lawrence. Heidi's professional journey has placed her at the forefront of implementing rapid changes in education laws and policies affecting Multilingual Learners.
A lifelong learner, Heidi is committed to both personal growth and the professional development of her colleagues. She has presented at numerous conferences, served as an adjunct professor at UMASS Lowell and Salem State University, and worked as a consultant for the Northeast WIDA network. Heidi earned her M.Ed. in Teaching English as a Second Language with high honors from Salem State University and holds a B.A. from UMASS Dartmouth. Recognized for her outstanding contributions to educational leadership, she was honored with the Salem State University Educator Alumni of the Year Award. Heidi is licensed in Massachusetts as an elementary teacher (grades 1-6) and as a Supervisor/Director, having completed the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) Executive Development Program.
At the heart of Heidi's work is a steadfast commitment to providing Multilingual Learners with the highest quality instruction, guiding schools on their journey toward cultural competency, and fostering strong partnerships between diverse families and educational communities.
