Karen Karson, MEd
Karen Karson is a dedicated and experienced educational leader with a strong background in elementary classroom teaching, instructional coaching, school administration, and mathematics education. With three decades of experience in public education, she has served in various capacities, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. Currently, she is the K-6 STEM Department Head for Falmouth Public Schools, where she collaborates with educators to enhance STEM instruction, analyze student achievement data, and facilitate professional development initiatives.
Karen's leadership journey includes serving as the Principal of North Falmouth Elementary School, where she successfully led school-wide initiatives, streamlined communication between home and school, and implemented data-driven strategies to support student achievement. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Principal, overseeing special education programs, chairing leadership committees, and redesigning mentorship programs for new teachers.
Throughout her career, Karen has been deeply committed to curriculum development and teacher training. As a Math Curriculum Leader at Morse Pond School and North Falmouth Elementary, she played a key role in aligning instructional practices with district and state standards. She has also designed and delivered numerous professional workshops on topics such as small group instruction, mastery-based learning, and balanced literacy approaches.
In addition to her work in public education, Karen has served as an Independent Consultant for the Everyday Math Program, supporting school districts in curriculum alignment and implementation. Her expertise in instructional best practices and teacher mentorship has made a lasting impact on educators and students alike.
Karen holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University, a Teacher Certification from Bridgewater State College, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Providence College.
With a passion for fostering academic excellence and supporting educators in their professional growth, Karen continues to be a driving force in shaping high-quality instruction and student success.
