Sarah McGuire, MEd, CAGS

Sarah has worked in secondary education for fifteen years, and has served as the middle school principal in the Duxbury Public Schools for the past five years. In this role, she has worked to establish high expectations for staff and students, while cultivating a middle school community where students can explore their strengths and interests in a safe and supportive environment. Prior to her role as principal, Sarah was an assistant principal at the high school level, a curriculum supervisor for the social studies department grades 6-12, and was a social studies teacher at both the middle and high school levels. In her teaching and curriculum leadership roles, Sarah demonstrated a passion for the effective and strategic use of technology tools to enhance learning, and led many professional development workshops for staff across the district. She has also presented in state and national settings, including MassCUE, MassCUE Leadership, and NCSS conferences on topics including effectively leveraging data, gamifying classrooms, technology tools for measuring student mastery, and most recently on building inclusive community in schools. 


Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in History from the College of the Holy Cross. She went on to earn her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northeastern University, as well as her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from American International College. Her MA certifications include Principal/ Asst. Principal (5-8, 9-12), and History (5-12). She is passionate about effective pedagogy, technology as a means to improve learning and instruction, and ensuring that all students are provided an environment where they are valued, respected and can learn effectively. She lives in Norwell with her wife and two children.
