Donna Tobin, EdD
Dr. Donna Tobin brings a wealth of classroom and administrative experience to her work at AthenaK12. An accomplished educational leader, she is committed to fostering a school culture in which students and staff thrive and student outcomes reflect the dedication and engagement of all members of the school and community. She works
toward these goals by seeking input and welcoming multiple perspectives as part of her decision making process, communicating with all stakeholders, and collaborating to facilitate partnerships and maximize opportunities for shared learning and acquisition of resources.
Currently Donna is the Director of SEL for the Westwood Public Schools. Prior to that, she served as the principal of Martha Jones Elementary School (in Westwood), where her school had a strong record for academic achievement and exceeding growth targets, and in 2021 was ranked the top elementary school in Massachusetts by US News & World Report. Prior to Westwood, Dr. Tobin served as principal in Easton and Hull and taught in the Milton Public Schools. In addition to her work in public education, she worked as a Team Manager at Ceridian Performance Partners in Boston, as a Research Assistant at University of New Hampshire, and a Child Care Director in Quincy, MA. Through all of these roles, she has honed her skills in instructional leadership, budget
management, operations, personnel, and parent and family engagement.
Dr. Tobin earned her Doctorate of Education, Educational Leadership from Boston College, and both her MEd and BS from UMass Boston. Along with her elementary teaching and principal certification, she is also certified in MA as a Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. Married with three sons, she loves to spend time with her extended family and friends at the beach, doing crafts, and reading.
