Marcie Abramson, EdM

Marcie has worked in mathematics education for the past 30 years. In that time, Marcie taught middle school mathematics and served as the mathematics curriculum coordinator in Boston area schools. She received both her Ed.M. in Mathematics Education and her BS, Summa Cum Laude, from Boston University. 


Marcie is passionate about equity and access for all learners, concentrating in best practices for K-9 classrooms in differentiated instruction, mathematical discourse, blending the content and practice standards, and building a joyful and curious math experience for all learners. She is a sought-after consultant and workshop presenter at the local and national level, presenting at NCTM and its affiliates throughout the country.  Additionally, Marcie is an adjunct professor at Brandeis University where she teaches Elementary Mathematics Methods in the Master of Arts in Teaching program (MAT) as well as teaching Explorations in Mathematics to undergraduates in the Mathematics Department.


She has written numerous publications including Painless Math Word Problems (Barrons 2010, 2001). Marcie was elected to the Massachusetts Mathematics Teacher Hall of Fame in 2018.
