Saundra Watson, MEd
Saundra Watson, Principal at John F. Kennedy Elementary School for the Canton Public Schools, has 25 years experience working in three school districts. Her experience includes positions as Residential Campus Supervisor, Assistant Director of the Residential Program and classroom teacher at the Walker School in Needham; Special Education Teacher, Team Chair and Special Education Administer in Needham Public Schools and Assistant Principal in Newton Public Schools. During her career Saundra has mentored, coached, and supported special education teachers, student teachers, related service providers, and teaching assistants.
As an Education Administrator and former classroom instructor, she has utilized her various leadership positions to support students inside and outside the classroom by building an environment of mutual trust and respect. Saundra embraces a collaborative philosophy when partnering with faculty and families thus ensuring students have a positive school experience.
Education is a vital component in the preparation of young people to mature, to be creative and become critical thinkers and to achieve success in increasingly complicated environments. Saundra is committed to maintaining a culturally responsive and anti-racist learning environment through the evaluation of student progress, supervision of faculty and staff performance, and nurturing open and positive communication with the family and the surrounding community. These form the building blocks for creating educational systems that promote positive student behavior and tiered intervention systems to meet the social-emotional needs of a diverse student body.
