This webinar is tailored for school leaders and educators of all levels. In this session we will address the question: How does the cycle of poverty affect our community, our curriculum, and our classrooms?

In this session, we expect to:

• explore the topic very few want to discuss: the cycle of poverty that exists in every school system — even in affluent, high performing towns;
• develop an awareness of the barriers students/families living in poverty face today;
• review different frameworks on poverty, examine data, and expose ourselves to the impact of generational (or situational) poverty on our students and families/caregivers;
• examine current policies and practices that may be upholding and/or contributing to our economically disadvantaged students underperforming their peers;
• identify and share creative opportunities and support for our students.
