The Department Head Series: From Teacher to Team Leader
REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR 2026-27!
A Job-Alike Series for
new evaluators and those who want a tune up!
Department Heads play a crucial role advancing the central work of a school district. The expectations for their roles are usually specific to the day-to-day needs of their respective programs and faculty. Often selected based on their instructional excellence and content expertise, they have not always had the opportunity to develop the leadership skills necessary to be effective and strategic in their new roles.
This institute provides skill development, support and a forum for engaging in dialogue about issues of leadership pertinent to the program level of the school district.
- Build your network - Learn from peers in this highly interactive, supportive and confidential small group setting.
- Discover practical applications - Pose questions and present issues from your current work for problem solving & strategizing.
- Engage with solid theory - Develop your ability to take a learning stance through consultancy protocols, problems of practice, case studies, videos and professional readings.
- Customize the agenda - Topics and discussions will be differentiated to fit a variety of circumstances.

Testimonials
Don't just take our word for it.
It was helpful to know I am not alone in the challenges we are facing and hear about the work others are doing and how I might be able to use what others are doing in my district.
I developed confidence in trusting the process, remaining calm and neutral when needed, and knowing the tactical tools to have in my back pocket when needed.
They have challenged me to be a better leader - really examining topics that I had not addressed!
I've been able to immediately apply each topic into my daily practice.
