A Job-Alike Series for
elementary principals seeking to improve their leadership around special education
As an elementary principal, one responsibility is to understand special education law to bridge the gap between general education and special education. It can be challenging to understand the legal obligations of special education while balancing the needs of students in your school. This program will help you understand special education law, while navigating the demands of all stakeholders in order to improve student achievement and meeting outcomes. You will:
- Increase understanding of MA regulations
- Explore data collection practices and IEP documentation
- Create a network of colleagues to problem solve with
- Practice giving feedback to teachers regarding presentation in meetings
- Practical application of current issues
- Develop leadership skills in this particular area
