The job is challenging - it is important to balance tasks & manage one's own emotions to effectively do the work, build relationships and establish a positive tone.

The facilitators have gotten me to think not just about my own self care but my team's self care & a lot of that begins with creating a good working relationship where we all feel comfortable communicating our needs with each other.

I find myself more confident in answering the tough questions, guiding those that I lead and being more thoughtful and reflective when things don't go the way I hoped. I think of possible unintended consequences of my actions. I'm much more aware of the various points of view in every decision. It is great to talk with others in the same or similar roles in how they address the challenges we face from difficult conversations to curriculum to school committees.

The program increased my effectiveness in that I was able to talk through an issue with the group about a difficult conversation with a staff member, and as a result, the conversation went very well.
